Danielle Jokonen: Let it go can be super hard to do until you do it. A lot of times people have a hard time letting go of control. She says it has to be costing you more than benefiting you to actually let it go. Letting go only when you're ready.

Hello, everyone. Danielle Jokonen here, talking about the phrase here. It's in a song, right? Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go. Very easy to say, can be super hard to do until you do it. And then that's why the song is so powerful when you're in the space of let it go. Should have done that a long time ago. And though sometimes the letting go can be so hard, hard. It can be super hard because by hanging on to it, it actually served you for some time. So it did benefit you. And you did it for a reason, whatever it is, right?
It helped you stay safe. It was the only known thing to do, so you did it. And sometimes you do it for a while, a long time, that it becomes comfortable, even though it may not be comfortable anymore. And so it's a cost and benefit scale. So it has to be costing you more than it's benefiting you to actually let it go, to release it, not be in that space anymore, not doing that same thing anymore. Example, you know, okay, one story I used to say but myself is I'm stupid. I'm stupid. And I got that from a kid when I was a kid.
And one thing, my sister said it to me all the time too, my older sister. So that didn't help reinforce it. And, oh, I couldn't say my r's when I was little. And then I had to go to speech and therefore I thought I was stupid because I was like, called out. So then it reinforced it even more. So then I decided also to be perfect. And perfect doesn't work either. But though I'm operating in the sense to, to be perfect, do all the things, do them in a way so nobody sees that I'm stupid because I don't want people to see that.
But I'm operating in a way that's not serving me right. So it's really letting go of the story that I am stupid, though. I got really good at doing things by myself, figuring it out on my own, not letting people see that I'm stupid. That worked until it doesn't work anymore. So there's a cost and a benefit. I don't want to do things all on my own. It's okay if I mess up, right? I have to give myself some grace, too. So I have let that go, that story. But it did take some time to even first see that I used to operate as being perfect.
It's like, what? That's not me. It's like, wait a second. Silly. Yeah. So look somewhere in your life that where you can let it go. A lot of times people have a hard time letting go of control because there are certain things you can control. There's a lot of things you can't. But a lot of times we want to control things too, because it's safe, it's known, it feels better, and though it actually doesn't. So let go. Right. You're only able to let it go though when the, the cost raise out the benefit.
So it's costing you more. Because a lot of times it's like, it's hard to let it go. It can be super, actually scary and sometimes maybe not beneficial until you're like ready. So trust your timing. It's okay to still want to hang on and know that there will be a time to actually let go and surrender to something that serves you for your next step, your next level. Yeah. So be with that story of let it go. What can I let go? And a lot of times we can't always let go of something. We always growing and expanding in our life as well from a solid foundation and also integrating new ways of being in our life.
So try on letting it go only when you're ready. Questions? Comments? Feedback I'd love to hear. My name is Danielle. Have a great rest of your day.
