Hi, good morning. Coming to you live for your midweek boost. First, let's do our one word check-in. How are you feeling today? I'm feeling a little bit under the weather, honestly. m. But how about you? No right or wrong answer. How's your body feeling? How's your spirit feeling? All emotions and all are welcome here. So last week I shared that I was feeling really nervous because I was pitching this new keynote idea and book idea to a room full of people that like really intimidated me. And one thing that I did like really intentionally was to like share that like with, my close circle, like I am really nervous and about this and versus just kind of keeping it to myself or feeling like, wow, I can do this, I don't need help.
And a quick update, I spent the whole morning before the pits, this is last Wednesday, really like psyching myself up and blasting Abba and dancing Have you ever done this? Dancing to just like get out of my head and into my body. So drop in the chat if you have a pump up song that you do this, or maybe I'm just alone and dancing to like 70s pop rock. But I was like really pumping myself up. And if I'm honest, the experience after the pitch, I got really emotional. for reasons that I'm still unpacking, but literally the minute that I heard their feedback, which I was asking, how can I get this message in front of more corporate audiences?
And they delivered really like constructive, great feedback on it. But honestly, after I switched off my camera, heard it, felt like I blacked out and I just started crying. And I got a headache, I felt nauseous. And It was really, really difficult. I'm not gonna lie. It was so, hard. And oh, good. Okay, thank you, Mary Ann, like 70s music. I mean, there's nothing better. What is your go-to? Mine was like Dancing Queen was just like honestly the best. And it was an emotional release. I totally feel you.
And there's something about music that helps me Sexy pack. Okay. I'm loving that. That's incredible. I'm glad you guys can relate to this, but there is a lot of science to that of just kind of like getting out of your head and into your body. And man, I was like feeling it. But then afterwards, I just like the waterworks just came on and I just started crying and I got a headache and I felt nauseous. And I tell my clients all the time that our emotions are data. And I had a lot of data to mine. I was just like, wow, this is intense.
But I had also told the others that I was nervous and they checked in. And as a verbal processor, I was able to talk about it. Maybe, you know, this is reminding me, maybe I just need to put on another song and actually like dance it out too. And when it was still really raw, you know, I connected with one of my best friends and then a few days later with my coach. And so again, just another great reminder that one, you're not alone and we're all going to be stepping into arenas big and small. where we are going to be nervous.
And so connecting with people before the fact, after the fact, to understand to get that support. Because for me, it was just an important reminder to continue to reach for connection, even when it was like the last thing that I wanted to do after this. And I'm making it sound like it was really bad. It was actually really good, like really great constructive feedback. So, but it was still really hard. And we all kind of encounter these really hard, hard moments in our lives. And so reaching for connection, even when it's kind of the last thing that we want to do can be really healing.
So my invitation this week is 1, maybe to kind of check out some 70s pop rock and like you sexy back by Justin Timberlake or find your song to kind of pump you up, but also reach for connection. Okay, have a great week. Bye.
