Host reflects on varied paths to wellbeing and the importance of connection and consideration. Using Ted Lasso's choice to step back into an assistant role, the talk explores how growth can mean moving sideways, down, in, or out—not only up.
The host begins with lines from 'Wildflowers' and notes the song and cover history, setting a gentle, reflective tone for the episode.
The presenter explains that Cadre highlights diverse paths to wellbeing, invites respectful disagreement, and stresses that connection and caring for one another are central to wellness.
Using Ted Lasso's choice to move from head coach to assistant so he can parent, the host illustrates leadership that creates space for others' growth and development.
The core message is that progress can be backward, inward, or sideways; viewers are encouraged to consider where they are best served for their own wellbeing and the people they influence.
A short farewell and promise to return tomorrow, followed by a final line from the song to close the episode.
You belong among the flowers. You belong in a boat out on the sea. Sail away, kill off the hours. You belong somewhere you feel free. A little Tom Petty for you this morning, but that song's been covered by lots of people and I think it should. It's called Wild Flowers. You belong where you feel free. And I hope Cadre is one of those spaces because we're showing you that there's lots of different ways to be well. So if you're like, I don't agree with that person, good. That's the offering. To consider things to go, you know what?
Understand why that person is where that person is. I understand that person finds contentment and grounding and nourishment and all the things that lead them to being well. And the number one thing that leads us to being well is each other. Connection, conversation, consideration, all those Cs. I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here. I know the things I know and I care about you. Spoiler alert, I'm talking about Ted Lasso today. Ted Lasso is a football coach, American soccer, football. And Ted Lasso is a really, really great coach.
Ted Lasso is also the father of a son who is younger and Ted Lasso decides to down level his position with the team that he coaches. And he goes, you know what? I am not going to be that coach anymore, head manager, sorry, manager. And he becomes an assistant. And a couple of things happen here. Number one, he did a really nice job creating space and opportunity for his assistant manager. And he built a team that saw the opportunities to learn and grow from each other and the whole staff. Sometimes the best thing we can do is to go backwards.
Sometimes the best thing to do is to realize that the only direction isn't up. You can win the game and not win in the game. That's my invitation for you on this Sunday, to take some time considering how you can win because the direction may be not up. It may be backwards or down or out or in. No matter where you are, you deserve the consideration of figuring out exactly where you're best served. For you, for the people you care about, and for those people that are affected and influenced by everything that you do.
Y'all, have a good one. I'll see you tomorrow. Find you a lover Go away somewhere all bright and new
