Host explores the idea of foundational daily acts that enable momentum and wellbeing, noting they are often simple and easy to skip. The talk invites listing those core routines and planning backward to protect them.
The speaker opens with friendly greetings and frames the episode by asking what the foundation of our actions is. This orients viewers to the video's main theme and invites them to reflect.
The speaker explains that foundations are important but usually unexciting and easy to miss, noting they rarely get highlighted despite supporting everything else. This segment reframes foundation as simple, necessary acts rather than dramatic efforts.
Using the Cadre Today routine as an example, the speaker describes small, consistent acts (like showing up and expressing care) that form their daily foundation. Viewers see how modest practices support larger goals without being heavy lifts.
The speaker emphasizes the risk of skipping foundational acts because they feel easy or invisible and invites viewers to write down their own foundational practices, assess how easy they are to forget, and build backwards to protect them. The segment closes with a brief encouragement and farewell.
Hey Cadre, how are we doing on this Monday afternoon, evening? I hope you've had a great start to your week if Monday is the beginning of your week. And if it's the middle of your week, if you work over the Saturdays and Sundays in this world, I hope that today has a good flow. So what's the foundation of all the things you do? All right, as we always hear, as people kind of talk about the imagery of building and working and momentum and legacy and all the things that we talk about, foundation is really important.
Without a strong foundation, yada, yada, yada, yada, yada. But I hear we talk about foundation as being fundamental. I don't hear us always talking about what is actually foundational. Because I think when we think about foundation, Foundation is often the things that aren't super exciting, super, super sexy. And a lot of times they aren't super difficult either. And because they're not super difficult, they don't get a lot of the spotlight in the highlight reel, the things that we do in our days.
You know, one of those things that's foundational for me is this, finding the time each day to be here in the Cadre Today space. to say things like, Hey, I'm glad I'm here. I'm glad you're here. I know the things I know and I care about you to be able to go. You know what? Cadre is the space where we're showing the world that there's many ways to be well. All these things. This is the foundation of of of my day. But at the end of the day, it's not the heavy lift thing. It's not normally the the most difficult, stressful thing that I do each day.
But it's funny because without the foundation, It's hard to build upon. Without the foundation, it's hard to build upon. And the slippery slope is often the foundation is the thing that's easy to skip because often it's easy to accomplish. It's easy to forget because it's always there. My invitation for you today at the end of this day or whenever you tune in for this cadre today is to take time to write down what are your foundational acts? And then take note, are those things, do each one, are they easy to complete?
Are they easy to forget? Are they easy to not see the value or to feel the instant impact of that activity? I bet more times than not you're going to be like, yeah, it is pretty easy to do these foundational things. And when we forget to do those things or when we put other things in front of them, then all of a sudden we can't build upon because that foundation isn't there. My invitation for you. Think about your foundational acts and take time to think about how easy it is to maybe forget the importance of those things.
And then build backwards to make sure that you don't. That you do not forget the power of your foundation. I'll see you tomorrow.
