Danielle Jokanan here. And looking at the word integrity, what does integrity mean? How do we live it out? Are we living it out some areas of your life? All areas of your life? And I've been looking at integrity lately, and the integrity definition is in this, the state of being whole and undivided. So if you're whole and undivided, you're living in integrity. A lot of times people look at integrity and think of what you do when no one's looking. I like to say that one. Or your words and your actions line up right?
You say you. You do what you're gonna say you gonna do, you follow through, which I think is valid. But it comes down the definition of being in the state of whole and undivided. And that exercise that you can try on here is looking in areas of your life where you are in integrity, like where you are practicing integrity. And then look at areas of your life where you are out of integrity. Integrity could be you're going to work, you follow through with your job, you do your tasks out of integrity.
Could be driving, like speeding, not using your blinker, going through a yellow light when you typically should probably, what, slow down, right? Not fully stopping at a stop sign. Where are you out of integrity? Driving can be one example. Out of integrity is, you know, or for me, I want to go to bed at 10pm that just doesn't happen. It's like, why, why doesn't that not happen? So I can look at that one, right? Why am I out of integrity with my sleep? 10pm rolls by, I finally get the kids to bed, usually, and then I want some more time for me.
So it could be a rebelling state. I finally need more time for me. Or it could be, I don't know how to go to bed, like, or I just want to stay up and watch a show. Or I do want to work. I do a lot of work at night. So why am I out of entire with going to bed? I could say like, I don't know how could be a thing. Or yeah, unworthy. Like, I'm unworthy of getting rest. I gotta do more, right? Gotta do more. Which, why? So I'm out of integral sleep because I got to do more because who's watching, who's checking my boxes if I'm not doing that?
So looking at the area right now where I'm out of integrity sleep, so I gotta release the story. My intention behind that is usually gotta do more. My. The action there doesn't serve me right. So if I release that Intention of needing to do more, needing to check the next box. I can release that and probably change and be in integrity with my sleep and just do the thing. It comes down to yes or no, do you do it or do you not do it? There's no try, there's no maybe, there's no justifying like yes or no, are you doing it?
So I release the need to do more. Because if I don't do more than I'm unworthy. So really like looking I am worthy of sleep. Simple. Like if I believe I am worthy of sleep, that will help me line up being the state of whole undivided in integrity with my sleep. So look in areas of your life where you are in integrity and out of integrity. You can journal, write these down. What are your actions in those areas and then what's the intention behind those actions? Like why do you do that? I don't go to bed because I feel like I'm unworthy of sleep.
So here's an example to prove that I am unworthy. Silly though I am worthy of sleep. So trying on that exercise, let me know what you get access to how you can live a whole life of integrity, feeling whole and undivided in all areas of your life. Because I feel how we show up one place is how we show up everywhere. It's hard to compartmentalize. You can and it works, but it doesn't really work when it comes down to doesn't. So it depends. It's a choice. It's really a choice. So choose what you want to do.
Look at areas of your life that you're in integrity out of integrity. Really, really look, this is a big word, right? And then see what is your intention behind those actions and how can you change to be and practice and live more in integrity? My name is Danielle Jokonen. Questions? Let me know.
