We perceive things as we are, not as they are. This shows the power of looking within to heal and see how do I see the world. How do I want to see the world and what can I change about me to create the world I desire?
Danielle Jokonen: We perceive things as we are, not as they actually are. How we feel internally is how our external world is actually going to show up for us. Always turn back to self, especially in the moments where it's easy to blame. Let me know if you have any questions.
Hello, everyone. Danielle Jokonen here and here to talk about this quote that I really like is that we perceive things as we are, not as they are. So we perceive things as we are, not as they actually are. That's big, right? So if we perceive things as we are, like, our eyes see things, we see something, but it's based on our own looking. How we feel internally is how our external world is actually going to show up for us. It's a big one. So we see things as we are. Right. We can blame things outside of us that are happening.
Sure. Yes. And we consistently always go back and take responsibility for self. And also, it depends on also what you want to focus on, right? Because there's a lot of things that there's only certain things that you can control that's not in your control. Right. And also, that's up to something bigger than ourselves, than anybody. So is it your responsibility, somebody else's responsibility? Or is it actually somebody bigger's decision making plan? Right? We cannot control every outcome, even though we think we can.
And that's where we can get squashed like a bug. So going back to that quote of we perceive things as we are, not as they actually are. Because how many times have I taught a yoga class and there's been so many different experiences from the one same class that I teach? It's really cool to hear everyone's experience through the one same class that I led people through. So to me, it shows that everyone has their own individual experience in a collective group based on the vision, the eyes, the looking, the feelings, the experiences up to that point that have happened before they came to the yoga class.
Again, that reminds me to always turn back to self, always turn back to self, especially in the moments where it's easy to blame, to project, to defend, to be defensive, to hide, to run. It's really, really big how we can consistently turn back to ourselves and that we actually can be the creator of our lives we actually believe have been programmed to consistently look outside of ourselves and be in shame, be the victim of our own life. And it doesn't have to be that way. So know that you are worthy, you are abundant, and you can be the creator of your life from love, from compassion, from peace.
Just turn that switch. Takes something, though, but it takes something consistently, again and again and again that you can perceive the beauty, the joy in your life all around, in all situations. So, yeah, see what that quote lands for you. Maybe write it down, look at it, noodle on it, journal on it. We perceive things as we are, not how they actually are. So how are you perceiving what's going on with you that's creating the outside reality that's happening for you? So be with that. Questions on it again, my name is Daniel Jokonen, creator of Yad Yoga.
