Good morning everybody. Happy Wednesday. Figured I'd start with a little soundtrack. I love having music on in the background ever since I was... I mean I could go back to 6th grade and remember that I would always leave music on in my bedroom so that when I would walk in there was something, there was a vibe set and Music is just a wonderful way to set a vibe. It's also a wonderful way to capture moments in life. And I like to have a versatile, you know, soundtrack or listen or a selection of music.
Because then, you know, the more you have, the more you can associate with different experiences in life. And just creates a good energy. So I always try to surround myself with good music, new music to create new patterns of memory and associations. And yeah, love music. Since I'm not able to be outside today, the streak has ended because it's a rainy one. We've been a soaker here in Minnesota for the past three days. And it's not letting up out there, so I'm inside. It's A bummer, but it's all good.
So I'm here to chat with you today. It's November. Or as I described in the title of this live stream, it's November. I'm taking it as an opportunity to really hone in on the goals that I want to accomplish. And saying no to things allows me the ability to put more effort into what I'm trying to accomplish. And my wife is at a 200-hour intensive yoga retreat in Guatemala right now. I miss her. I'm jealous of her experience, but also very excited because she's been looking forward to this for quite some time.
And her being gone an entire month allows me to focus on developing a really solid routine for this upcoming stretch. Is it a routine that's going to last the rest of my life? No. Routines should always evolve. And that's one of the nice things about living in Minnesota is we have the four seasons, which really promote change in a sense, right? So I'm going to take this time period here and really focus on what the next three to six months look like. Will I have this routine for the next six months?
I'm not sure. Time will tell. But I know that I need to flip the script a little bit. Going back to what Luke's Monday motivation was last week, do something that you don't want to do. And I feel like I've been pretty complacent in my routine and kind of just going, you know, through the motions, not necessarily lack of basically, but I'm just getting a little too comfortable. So I need to take myself out of my comfort zone and say no, not only to requests for engagements from friends or work associates, but say no to the things that I'm comfortable with.
One thing is I love to journal in the morning, my favorite thing, and I realize that I enjoy it so much, but I should break it up a little bit and not spend so much time at the beginning part of my day when I'm most creative and most motivated, to kind of, I'll set the table a little, maybe 15 minute, 20 minute journal session as opposed to what could be 30 minutes to an hour sometimes where I'm really getting my thoughts down and I'm navigating or I'm just recording this transformation that's going on in my life right now.
So I'm flipping it and I'm writing at night now, avoiding television and just really trying to focus on developing this lovely routine. So part of this, as I mentioned, comes with saying no. So, I have a lot of friends that know that I am by myself now for the next month. So they're hitting me up. They want to come sauna. They want me to go out with them. And I do want to do that stuff, but I know deep down that I need to focus on the task at hand and that's developing my brand lead well. setting my spring and summer up for success by putting in the work and the effort right now.
I like to be proactive instead of reactive. And with my lead well launch recently, I've had to be a little reactive because it takes time to launch something. And have you ever heard of a business opening on time or ahead of schedule? Yes, it happens. But in most cases, it takes a little bit longer to accomplish what you're trying to accomplish. And now I am kind of flipping the script on that and putting the pedal to the metal is on the process of just really focusing, developing on this next phase so that I can set myself up for success and not be always trying to play catch-up because when I'm playing catch-up that leads to stress and anxiety.
So I'm going to take action against that stress and anxiety to essentially kill it. And that's a nice thing about just being self-aware of what's going on, not numbing myself to just get through the day. You know, I am trying to be very present, focused, disciplined, and as I mentioned, proactive. So other things that I'm saying no to this month are, sugary sweets. Not gonna really do that this month. I may make an exception around Thanksgiving when there's sure to be a delicious meal around the table.
But if I prepare for that ahead of time, then I can justify, building a cheat day in there once a month. So yeah, because, there's, you got to also experience the pleasures in life, but too much, if anything, is never a good thing, even if it's a good thing. So set goals, achieve balance, try to stay disciplined, And, I'm just gonna not listen to the little voice, on my shoulder that says, oh, you can do that. Don't worry about it. You've had a good day. You've worked hard. Reward yourself. Well, I'm now I'm rewarding myself with continued discipline.
And when I wake up, I feel incredible. I know that I have essentially advanced myself in every category of life throughout the day. And another thing I'm saying no to is just a little snack after dinner. No. Your body wants dinner. It doesn't need food after dinner. So when it's easy sometimes to just snack or have a little treat or just feel a craving, usually those are, that's like a little just shot of dopamine trying to get into my life. And I'm working on other ways to tap into that dopamine.
So I have a big list of things to do. So if I were to get into a position where I might succumb to a desire, I can refer to my list. and tackle a task. So I'm saying no to desires and I'm saying yes to the things I know will make me feel good inside, make me feel like I'm pushing the needle towards the end result. And you know, it's I've mentally prepared for this. So it's not like I just decided one day, all right, this is what I'm going to do. Because it can be hard to do that. So I saw this coming, got a, you know, maybe a couple things out of my system.
I enjoyed Halloween. I had some, you know, I had some candy and all the good things that come with that little holiday. And And now I'm going to take a little extra focus on myself across the board. So if you're someone that is maybe stuck a little bit, spinning your tires on a daily basis with things that you want to accomplish, try to embrace the concept of no November, it's okay to say no. Maybe pretend you're out of the state, pretend you're on a vacation somewhere or have a big deadline with work to justify it.
So use your imagination, right? What's up, Coleman? How you doing, man? So yeah, that's all I kind of got to say is Embrace November. Thicken up your filter a little bit and let the things pass through the filter that are going to provide you a service and let the gunk that's going to muddy up the filter stay away. So hope you have a fantastic soggy week so far. If you're looking for a little wellness, a little connection, a little movement, some contrast therapy, I'll be at Thomas Beach this Saturday for sessions by Ledwell.
There's one slot open from 10 to 1130. I got the 1130 to 1 booked out by the Sound at Times group. So that'll be fun. And then if you can't make it this Saturday, I'll be there again next Saturday. And then I have an announcement for four more events before I take a break this winter for the series and move on to some other special projects related to Leadwell. So would love to see you. But if not, thanks for checking me out on here. I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day and we'll talk to you all very soon.
Cheers.
