Rolando opens the live with greetings and a casual introduction, sharing his recovery background and his vibe as a coach. This orients new viewers and sets a candid, supportive tone for the session.
He leads a brief check-in asking people to rate how they're doing on a 1–10 scale and offers follow-up questions about moving up a point. This section helps viewers reflect on their current state and engage with the host.
Rolando talks candidly about experiencing seasonal depression, how low daylight and certain times of year affect him, and the symptoms that emerge. He frames this as a predictable pattern worth noticing before it worsens.
Drawing on past data and examples, the host identifies actions and tolerances that precede his downturns and stresses the importance of naming issues early. He encourages vulnerability, reaching out sooner, and talking with people who will offer honest accountability.
He urges viewers to spotlight one thing they've been keeping inside and invites them to share or at least acknowledge it, then wraps up with practical challenges for the day and a warm sign-off. This gives listeners a simple, actionable takeaway before the end.
Hello, Good morning, good morning, Cadre fam. Good morning. We'll give it a second for people to roll in. Love people. Today is a good day. We're back. Today is a good day, y'all. We'll give it a second. It is Tuesday, November 3rd, 914 in the AM. It's voting day, a lot going on today. Good morning. So if you don't know me, if you're new here, new into the space, new in the cadre, my name is Rolando. I go by Coach Ro, Rose 612 on social media and all the things. And I am someone who is in long-term recovery, been through a lot of stuff in life.
and I don't mind talking about it. All right, the good, the bad, the ugly, the funny, the goofy, all the things. I don't mind talking about it as long as it's going to point someone in the right direction. All right, so that's my vibe. I might say something serious, something goofy, maybe drop a few nuggets of wisdom here and there, right? But I always keep it real. I like to start my live out today with a check-in. Just a general check-in. You can drop your answer in the chat or just answer internally.
It's a good question to ask yourself in my opinion. One through 10. How are you doing today? Like keeping it real with yourself. Like no one's going to know. Keeping it real with yourself. One through 10. How are you doing? 10 being it's the best day ever. Like this is the day that I was born for or one being I didn't want to get out of help. I didn't want to get out of bed and I might need some help today. Both are okay. Where you at? I challenge you. Drop it in the chat today. It's an interesting number for me.
I am at about a seven, almost, I'm at about 8 right now, right? Considering the weather. Carrie, we had a six. Okay. Follow-up question. What would it take to get you to that next number? If you had a six, what would it take to get you to a seven? All right. I am at about an 8, and it's been a challenging weekend for me, right? I'm always going to keep it real on here. For me, I go through like seasonal depression. As soon as the sun is gone, it's like this dark cloud comes over and then like, I'm like Eeyore, right?
Everything that comes up, I'm like, why bother, right? And that's, I can't help it for the most part, right? I've tried to outrun it. I've tried to outwork it, outjournal it, outmeditate it, all the things, right? Sunshine, facts. Same. But it's just something that goes on. There's a lot of stuff in the seasons and birthdays and holidays that brings a little dark cloud over me. So I try to do things differently to change it up knowing that, right? So what I wanted to talk about today is we all have those seasons of heaviness, right?
Whether it's an anniversary of something, whether it's a situation where someone passed away or something, just a time of business, holidays, whatever it might be. We all had those tough seasons, right? For me, this is the one I'm heading into. And it's almost like every year by clockwork, right? So I started to look back and identify, you guys see my dog up there? That's Asaf. He wanted to be involved in the live chat today. But I started looking back at patterns and themes, right? Every year, it's something different.
I look back and it's like, all right, leading up to that time of busyness and heaviness and all the things where I either burn out or I go through season depression, seasonal depression or whatever it is, what were the symptoms leading up to it, right? And sometimes it's hard because I don't want to look back because it's almost like you have to relive it or you got over that season and you don't want to look back at it sometimes, right? But I've found sometimes you got to go back to the data, right?
To know where we're going tomorrow, we have to know where we came from yesterday, right? So I go back to the data, it's like, what themes, what patterns, what symptoms were there that I either noticed or didn't notice, or here's a better one, come closer, the ones that I didn't want to notice, right? That's the key right there, right? For me, it's like, what are the things that I was either involved in doing, allowing, or tolerating that helped get me to the seasonal depression or made me be more irritable or overly sensitive or all these things, right?
A lot of shit that happens, right? And I've had to look back at them, right? And for me, yeah, I can, like I said before, I try to out gym it, I try to outwork it. One of the patterns for me is, can I be vulnerable right now? Can I keep it real? Even though I'm a coach and I'm A helper, I still struggle sometimes, right? I'm human, right? I struggle with asking for help sooner, right? For me, I'm like, okay, I might not wait until I'm completely drowning, but I wait till I get in panic mode to ask for help.
And I've learned through trial and error that I need to ask for help or reach out for support right away. Right? For me, because the conversations that happen in my head between the ears, there's a whole lot of narrative building. There's a whole lot of anxiety, things that can take a situation and run with it. And guess what? It will feed depression. It will feed anxiety. It will feed insecurities, all of these things. So my way, looking back at the data from last year, going into this season, because this is the season where it's heavy, like the last week leading up to right now, it was really heavy.
Not that it was one thing specific, but just a collective of things. Rain is a big one and no sun. But I've had to look. It's like, you know what? I have to open up and talk about things. There's so much power in talking about things and not in a sense of just like not just venting or like trauma dumping on someone. It's like, you know what? This thing bugged me. And if I keep this conversation inside, my anxiety is going to grab a hold of it. my depression is gonna grab a hold of it. The seasonal of the season of busyness is gonna grab a hold of it and run rampant, right?
So I made a decision. If something little bothers me, I'm gonna open up to at least one person and talk to them about it, right? And just be like, hey, like, hey, bro, hey, sis, like, this is what I'm this situation, this thing happened. And these types of things usually bother me. I'm just trying to open up and talk about it, right? And that's hard. It's hard for me. It's usually like, Back in the day, it was easier for me to open up and talk about things once they were really hard. It's like, I'm drowning, I don't know what to do, help, like SOS, because then it's out of disparity, right?
It's out of disparity. It's like, I need this, right? But what I'm looking at learning for, learning now is to reach out and talk about things a lot sooner when it's conversational based, when an event, a situation, the season of busyness comes up and it's a singular event, right? It's all right, let's talk about this thing. right? Whether it's a breakup, a job situation, a family dynamic, or like maybe you just screwed up, maybe you just did something dumb, or maybe, yeah, I don't know, you just, dumb situations happen, right?
And to talk about it. So that's what I've challenged myself to do. Also with someone who is not just going to agree with me and saying like, oh, it's all right. I like to talk to people that have different perspectives, a different mindset, and will hold me accountable. and tell me like, bro, you really, you really, you really screwed up there or like, bro, that was, that was freaking dumb. Right. And I push myself to do that. Right. And that's something that it's like a muscle I've had to work to do to do it sooner.
For me, it's got easy when I'm drowning to do it. But now as I move that marker, to when I'm mildly frustrated or irritated, like, let's handle this up front. Let's take let's take care of this small issue before it comes before it gets to a big one or a drastic one or one that's just going to slow me down. So I shared in a post last night, I said that like, what you don't shine the light on will stay in the dark. And what stays in the dark you have to deal with alone. And that gets heavy. That gets really heavy.
And saying that phrase and that idea out loud really did something to me. Because then it's like, okay, what else do we, do me, do you have in the dark right now that needs to be shined some light on? Right? It doesn't have to be nothing big, nothing major. It could just be an anxiety or whatever. What does that look like? So I ask yourself, I ask you the same question I ask myself. What is something in your life that you feel that you should just invite someone into another space, into that space and ask them like, hey, I'm struggling with this thing.
I just want to get it out into the universe. Because sometimes that's all it is. And we just got to get it out because when we keep it inside, it gets heavy and we have to deal with it alone. It doesn't even have to be nothing big. If you're an overthinker and an ADHD guy and like caffeine, coffee, espresso, one little thing can be taken and all of a sudden it's a big thing because it stayed up here. So the whole goal is what's one thing that you're keeping up here that you can get out that might bring some light to it?
I challenge you as you go throughout the day, think of at least that one thing. We all have that one thing. What's yours? You can send me comments, let me know what it is or keep it inside or at least just say, yep, I got it out. Let me know. I like to hear these things. That's what I got for you. My name is Ro, Coach Rose, 612, all the things. Welcome to my live. It's Tuesday. So even though I've had a couple, a long weekend, it's gonna be a good day, even though the sun's not out. Even though the sun's not out and I still have that Eeyore type of vibe, but talking about it, it's like, you know what?
We're gonna bring Tigger into the situation to follow the Winnie the Pooh analogy. I don't know why Winnie the Pooh characters are coming up today, but it's so relative. That's what I got for you guys. I hope you guys have a great day, a great Tuesday. Do something productive, do something fun, and do something nice for you. I challenge you. That's my last challenge, and I'm gonna shut up now. Do something nice for you. wanna know why? Come close. I'm gonna tell you a secret, because you deserve it.
All right, bye.
