A strategist plans but a joyful one plans for joy. When did you last feel rested? What are you good at that comes so easy you assume it doesn’t count? Who’s in your corner? Whose rules are you still following? What made you smile today? We’ll tackle these questions with heart and extend an invitation to experiment trying something new and joyful.
The host opens with brief greetings and guides a quick one-word check-in about how viewers' bodies and spirits are feeling. This orients participants and sets a welcoming tone for the session.
The speaker explains why they're broadcasting on Friday and describes their eight-year-old's first overnight party, then recalls nostalgic memories of childhood sleepovers. This personal story connects the host's parenting joy to shared, playful memories.
The host notes that sleepovers aren't just for kids, recounting a cousin's 40th birthday sleepover and the simple, fun nature of the event. This reflection highlights how ordinary moments can be joyful at any age.
The host issues a week-long invitation to create small moments of magic—perhaps by hosting or reimagining a sleepover—and asks how to make the ordinary extraordinary for oneself. The short closing encourages action and bids viewers a great weekend.
Good morning. Happy Friday. Coming to you live for your morning boost. First, like we do every time, let's do one word check in with how you're feeling today. No right or wrong answer. How's your body feeling? How is your spirit? All emotions are welcome and all are welcome here. So Friday, I'm normally on Wednesday, but I'm kind of feeling Fridays. And so tonight my eight-year-old has his first ever overnight sleepover party for his best friend's birthday. Do you remember sleepover parties as a kiddo?
Lined up at the ground in sleeping bags, snacks, chatting, games, junk food. Honestly, the most uncomfortable sleeping arrangements most often, but you just didn't care because you were having so much fun. And part of being a parent is fun. That's so much fun for me is really kind of re-experiencing these firsts through my kids' eyes again, you know, reminding me of like those fun memories. But sleepovers are just for kids. And earlier this year, my cousin did one for her 40th birthday. And it was equally fun, but honestly, significantly earlier bedtime.
So I guess simple. My invitation for this upcoming week inspired by sleepovers is how in this upcoming week can you make some magic of your own, maybe with a sleepover. But how do you reframe something ordinary and make it extraordinary for yourself? Have a great weekend.
