Join me if you’re single on a Saturday and need some ideas on what to do!
Michelle quickly introduces herself as a dating coach and explains she hopped on a spontaneous live to talk about what to do on a Saturday if you're single.
Michelle discusses the social pressure to have weekend plans and how being single can feel stigmatizing, then reassures viewers that not having plans doesn't make them a loser.
After mentioning she Googled options, Michelle offers concrete ideas—from local events, museums, coffee shops, and shows to staying home and doing chores or reorganization—emphasizing you can enjoy activities alone.
Michelle explains how to notice when you’re ruminating and use an imagined remote control to 'change the channel' on negative narratives. She reinforces the point with examples (dog park, shooting hoops, bike rides) and restates that the narrative, not being single, causes distress.
Michelle repeats the 'change the channel' tip, suggests Googling local options if you need ideas, and closes by asking viewers to comment what they're doing, follow her on social media, and wishing them a lovely Saturday.
Hi everyone, I am Michelle. Welcome to my cadre live. I am from unstuck my Michelle. I'm a dating coach and I just wanted to hop on on this Saturday so I didn't give much warning 5 minutes warning that I was doing a live and talk about what to do on a Saturday if you're single because I remember when I was single I would sometimes just like twiddle my thumbs or maybe get into some trouble and so I always wanted to check in because I know that it can hard weekends. people are always like, what are you doing on the weekends?
What are your plans? Or what did you do this weekend? And there's some kind of social pressure to have plans on the weekend. So if you're single, you can feel like maybe a loser if you're not doing anything. And the reality is, like, you're not a loser. And I before this, I went on the internet. And I literally just Googled what to do if I'm single on a Saturday. And you guys, so many things popped up. Like I'm in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and so many events popped up and things that you can do if you're single.
And from just my memory, some of the things were, oh gosh, I can't remember any of them. Oh, there's an art museum kind of opening around here apparently. There's some tapestry thing. I'm not saying it right or remembering it right. But there's that. I said you can go to a local coffee shop. You can go to a show. And so if you're single, remember, you don't need somebody to go out and do stuff. Yes, it's fun to do stuff with people. I get that. And you can go do stuff on your own. Other options are stay home, watch TV.
You can reorganize your living room. You can put your laundry away. Like you can do house stuff that maybe you've been procrastinating. There's tons of stuff to do, but when you're getting stuck in your head and just thinking about how, oh man, I wish I was with somebody, or dare I say, scrolling social media and seeing like couples out doing things, it's so easy to get stuck in your head. And I want you to recognize that first and just recognize, okay, I'm doing it. I'm getting stuck in my head right now and it is time to change that channel.
It's one of my favorite skills or tools that I share with people is literally imagine having a remote control and when your brain is going down a pathway that is not serving you, change the channel, right? You bring it right back to, okay, that's not the avenue I want to go down. What can I do today, Saturday in Minneapolis? Oh gosh, sorry, my dog is right here. This is Little Lucky. Hi. Right, if you have a dog, you could go to the dog park. But I live in Minneapolis. It's 72 degrees. It's nice out here, right?
Can you go shoot some hoops at the park by your house? A lot of those tennis things have that ball, that wall. You can just play tennis. You can go on a bike ride, right? You don't have to sit at home. And again, you can. So there's no groundbreaking news that I'm sharing today about being single on a Saturday besides you guys. It's often the narrative we create around it that causes us problems, not actually being single on a Saturday, right? Being single on a Saturday is just fine. And it's the narrative you create around it.
So if you're telling yourself like all these negative things, I encourage you to change the channel. Here's little homie, just being a little love bug. Just a love bug, he says to change the channel. Change the channel, right Lucky, change the channel. Sorry, I get really high pitch when I talk to my dog. I think that's just a dog people thing that we do. So yes, if you're single on a Saturday, do something or don't, but you're not a loser. It is okay to be single on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
I feel like I have to say all the days, Friday or Saturday. It's the narrative you are telling yourself. And that is the biggest thing, right? So when you're going down that avenue, I know I'm repeating myself a lot, but it's just, It's hard to do in the moment. When you're going down that avenue, say no, no, no, change the channel. Change the channel. Yeah, so that's all I got you guys. And you can also go to Google and say, what can I do today if I'm single on a Saturday? If you're kind of changing the channel but not knowing what to change it to, there you go.
Google can help you find different things in the area that you can go to or maybe different things to try and to do at home. So drop a comment, let me know what are you doing this Saturday. And also follow me at Unstuck by Michelle on TikTok or Instagram. I post daily little videos. And if there's things you want to see me come live on about here and talk about in regard to dating, mental health, let me know. Have a lovely, lovely, lovely Saturday.
