She stresses that rest isn’t something to earn and is essential for health, then offers actionable tips like putting your phone away before bed, dimming lights, reading, stretching, or journaling to create a calming evening routine. These suggestions help viewers implement more rest and ease during the season.
Josie encourages continuing to create periods of rest and rejuvenation as the seasons change and closes with warm wishes for the week ahead. This offers a brief motivational finish and practical reminder.
All right, hello cadre. I'm Josie. I am a holistic health coach and co-founder of a beverage company called Charm Social Tonic. And I just wanted to come on here to talk a little bit about the changing seasons. So yesterday was fall back as we're moving into November. And As the seasons change, I think it's important to remember that we are allowed to slow down too. And sometimes it can feel frustrating to want to get some more sleep, have some more time to rest, maybe not feel as energized as we used to in the summer with the shortening days.
However, it's important to honor that change and it is normal and it is natural and it's part of being human we are part of nature too with these changing seasons temperatures getting a little bit colder the days are getting shorter our bodies will kind of start to slow down a little bit and that's how it's supposed to be you know you can kind of think of it as Nature, it's not springtime year round. Nature isn't blooming all year round and we don't need to expect ourselves to do that either. And a lot of times we put all these expectations on ourselves to do the same, put out the same amount of work every single day, constantly making progress and constantly doing more and more and more, but it's not like that.
like how the real seasons change and speed up, slow down, we also do that too. And so with the days getting shorter and colder, give yourself grace if you are feeling called to rest a little bit more, spend more time at home, or move at a slower pace. This is completely okay, completely natural, and part of being human and part of honoring this changing period with the seasons. And taking care of yourself can also look very different in every season of life. And sometimes, you know, the healthiest thing that you can do for yourself is to simply allow yourself to rest.
And so if you have been really trying to push yourself and things just seem to be feeling harder and harder. Let this be your permission slip to rest and to take a pause and to take a step back because sometimes that is the best thing that we can do for ourselves, for our health, and then even our productivity down the road. And also rest is absolutely not something that you have to earn. It is something that you need, we need, I need it, everyone needs it. And a little tangible tip to help moving into these changing seasons could be creating a slower evening routine perhaps that honors this changing season.
So You could try to put your phone away 30 minutes before bed, dim the lights, and really set a calming environment for going to sleep. And you could try reading a book you enjoy, stretching or journaling, and to really help you just wind down and calm down. Hi Cole, happy Sunday, how are you doing? And yeah, so that is a little tip that you can try to implement to help bring in more rest and peace during this time. And yeah, all right Padre, thanks so much. Again, I just encourage you to do as the seasons change to continue to create more periods of rest and rejuvenation.
I hope that you all have a wonderful rest of your Sunday and a fantastic week ahead.
